zPro – Zillow offers brokers premium placement and exposure

Effective today a new “free” program will roll out to 10  brokers who will be zPro partners. According to the press release, there will be 5 points to Zillows new incentives and offering:

  1. Prominently Displayed Listing Agents  zPro brokerage agents will be displayed first and at the top of the page on listings, along with their photos and links to their profiles.
  2. Weekly Detailed Broker Reporting: Weekly reports, including listings views, search views, number of contacts and contact open rates.
  3. Broker Listing Feed Trumps Other Sources: PArtner Brokers will be required to provide a direct feed of MLS-sourced listings feeds which will be the definitive source for accurate listings.
  4. Leads via Email and text : zPro brokerage agents will receive contact notifications via email and reminders  via text message and phone.
  5. Brokers choose lead desination: zPro brokers can choose to send leads to listing agents or directly into their own CRM systems.

“Brokers have been giving us a lot of feedback, and we’ve been listening,” said Bob Bemis, vice president of industry relations at Zillow. “Zillow is committed to helping brokers succeed, and zPro for Brokers directly addresses their concerns and provides solutions about listings accuracy, lead management and how listing agents are displayed.”

“zPro for Brokers represents incredible value for brokers to present to their agents,” said Jay Thompson, director of industry relations and social media. “Listing agents who work for brokerages that incorporate zPro into their business will now be even more visible to the consumer shopping on their listings, and brokers will have tremendous insight into the performance of their listings on Zillow.”

Will this be enough incentive for brokers in any given city to want to send DIRECT feeds to Zillow (thereby avoiding some of the current issues Zillow is facing with MLSs? Time will tell.

Comments

  1. I like the send info to text feature.

  2. This is something we used to to in the past more so for branding and name recognition. I don’t recall any direct sales that came from it but I do have friends that still use the service? Curious if anyone has an sucess stories from buyer/sellers that said the got their name from Zillow.

  3. I just purchased a zillow buyer agents account for 6 months, bought 25% of the leads in my zip code. I was very disappointed in the program. It seems that this program zillow just rolled out is in direct conflict with the buyers agents buying leads in their zip codes. Personally I wonder how effective zillow really is in helping agents or brokers generate any kind of income. It would be interesting to hear other comments here.

  4. @ Gerri – Its been my experience in talking to most other agents, that your results are VERY typical. Paying Zillow or Trulia generates poor results. And they are going to have to come up with new ways to monetize their publicly traded company now.
(IMO, they are going to “partner” with a brokerage – or even roll out their own, and start actually being real estate agents. Long term, thats the only feasible solution for them financially.)

  5. I believe that they have the power and online presence to become an actual brokerage. They are already generating the leads, so I think the next logical step for them is to just have agents that are actually working them and collect a percentage of the commissions, like any other brokerage would.

  6. I agree with Carter, I think it will be interesting to see if Zillow takes the next logical step. Interesting times!
