RE/Max helps agents leap ahead of the foreclosure crisis with new CDPE designation

Dave Liniger announced he has a goal to have 7500 CDPE designee’s within the RE/Max International organization stating “it is one of the most critical things real estate agents can do to help homeowners, the economy and the country”.  So just what is a CDPE and how can it help slow down foreclosures? CDPE stands for Certified Distressed Property Expert and it aims to educate brokers and agents marketing distressed properties and guiding sellers through a short sale process to keep them from foreclosure which is costly to lenders and devastating to homeowners.

The brains behind the CDPE designation is Alex Carfen, real estate investing veteran and mortgage broker. He is the co-founder of the Distressed Property Institute that developed the CDPE designation program and to date has helped over 4500 agents get the designation.

Education is ceratinly key when it comes to distressed properties and the short sale process and this looks to be a home run for RE/Max’s agents to put them ahead of the game in offering the best tools and information to their sellers to get their homes sold quickly.
