Facebook Groups gain popularity
April 26, 2009
With the reach of Facebook extending well over 200 million accounts and now gaining popularity rapidly in the middle aged demographics, Facebook Groups are rapidly gaining traction as well. HomeGain , REMAX and even individual brokerages have created their own groups.
REALTORS who are already using Facebook find it easier to connect and communicate while in the comfort of their favorite social networking community. Many new to Facebook are finding this a good reason to try it out.
Other platforms such as LinkedIn have groups such as this one that REMAX regional services has. Either way, the real estate community is using social media to interconnect.

Got something to say?

A good friend of mine has closed 4 transactions this year using facebook and also closed a few deals using active rain. My point is the social media sites are free from what I have seen so time is the only investment. I ersonally have put in time and have not had any closed deals ytd from a social media site. On a closing note I still choose facebook over anyother.
As long as people realize that facebook isn’t as secure as some people think. Personal things you want kept personal should be kept off facebook, as well as financial data that you want kept private. There are lots of facebook accounts being hacked daily and as long as it’s only used as a social media everyone should be fine.
Just recently (according to Computerworld): “A massive bot-based attack has been hitting Facebook users, with nearly three-quarters of a million users receiving fake password reset messages, according to security researchers.”
